Our Villa is in only 1 km from Cortona on “Via delle Contesse” which is the road up to Cortona that follows the ancient path of the Roman road. On this way stands the Convent of the Contesse that named the whole area. It was founded in 1250 by Andreina Baldinucci at her own expenses on a former structure. From this take the name “Contessa convent” or “le Contesse”
We are about 1 km from Cortona, starting from home on foot, it’s a beautiful walk, from here you can admire a stunning view of the Val di Chiana and reach the historical center of the Cortona town in 10 minutes.
