Completely
surrounded in the green, encircled by olive trees, our house, an
ancient farmsted in stone,
is located on the
hill of Cortona,
at approximately one kilometre from the town, easily reachable also by
a ten minutes splendid walk.
Via
delle Contesse, the road up to Cortona, follows the ancient track of
the Roman road.
On the way stands the
Convent
of the Contesse that named the whole
area.
It was founded in 1250 by Andreina Baudinucci at her own expenses on a
former structure. From this the name “Contessa convent” or “le
Contesse”.

How to reach house "Le Contesse"
BY CAR:
Highway of the Sun (Autostrada del Sole) A1 Firenze-Roma. Exit
Valdichiana. From the tollhouse proceed for Perugia taking the Highway
Siena-Perugia. Take the second junction to Cortona Regional road 71 in
locality Camucia, deviation for Cortona, where you will find me.
BY TRAIN:
Line Firenze-Roma.
Railway station Terontola-Cortona or Camucia-Cortona.
Outside the stations you can take a taxi or a bus to Cortona, within a
step from house "Le Contesse"
